Sinus Lift Bone Graft

Our dentists have many innovative techniques that they use to help go from a broken down tooth where they can place an implant at the same time the tooth is extracted or removed, saving 4 to 6 months of healing time before you get a tooth to chew with in the area. They have mastered a technique that they also teach other dentists to preform for doing bone grafting in the maxillary sinus area that is similar to how "Laproscopic Surgery" has changed many surgical procedures to be more out patient surgery and easier on the patients. Our dentists technique of doing a "sinus lift" bone graft will revolutionize that surgical procedure in the future for the benefit of patient comfort, and it is more predictable than the old "lateral window" procedure as far as success. The old technique involved a lengthy 2-3 hour, arduous and invasive exposure of the jaw bone surgery and occasionally an implant could be placed. The new procedure is about an hour, a small surgical area approx 1.5 cm and the regular process for placement of a normal implant, everything is done in the small area where the implant will be placed. Truly a win-win for patients!

Replace Missing Teeth

Dental implants are the best solution for replacing missing teeth, stabilizing existing dentures or replacing dentures completely. These specially-made titanium anchors are placed into the space where teeth are missing. Once the bone bonds with the Titanium or Ceramic implant, a post is inserted into the anchor and an artificial tooth (crown) is attached to the post. If you have healthy gums and bone, you might be a candidate for dental implants. Dental implants can be used to replace one or more teeth, support a bridge and eliminate the need for a removable partial denture, provide support for a denture, or restore function and balance to your bite.

Are You a Candidate for Dental Implants?

When you lose a tooth, a dental implant may be needed to replace the tooth root and crown. Dental implants are simply "anchors" that permanently support replacement teeth. They are secure and durable and can be cleaned and cared for much like your natural teeth. The most common response Dr. Platt hears from patients is that they are worried about how painful the process will be! But everyone is surprised by how relatively painless it is when they have completed the surgery. The majority of patients are fine with Tylenol or Ibuprofen within 24 - 48 hours!

The procedure requires a titanium or ceramic root be fitted into your jaw to replace the lost tooth's root. Once the implant is anchored into the bone, the bone around the implant requires six weeks to four months of healing. Once the bone has healed, a support post and replacement tooth is anchored onto the implant.

Implants are a great option for a single tooth that breaks and is too far gone to spend a lot of money trying to play heroics to salvage and it only lasts a few short years. If taken care of the way we will teach you, your implant should last decades and give you confidence to eat and chew like a normal healthy tooth.

Dental Implant And the Crown in Two Weeks

Dr. Platt is currently teaching a new technique that is gaining popularity with patients at our office. Normally when an implant is placed the patient has to wait for 3-6 months before an impression is taken to begin fabricating the crown or tooth to attach to the chewing surface of the titanium implant under the gums. Many patients expect the placement of the implant and the crown to be done at the same time. Dr. Platt teaches for one implant company in South Korea that has developed a significant way of moving this surgery into the next century. He has been teaching this technique in the US and headlined a world symposium in Istanbul Turkey that was about teaching this technique to the dentists of the world so other dentists can begin offering this technique to their patients. While not everyone is a candidate for this all-in-one procedure, please ask Dr Platt and the dentists at Rogers and Platt Dental if you might be a candidate for this amazing and life-changing procedure!
